Take Your Team to the Only Meeting Space That is Seven Miles Long, 22 Miles Around
The Abbey Resort Partners with Lake Geneva Cruise Line to
Offer a Floating Meeting Place on the Shores of Lake Geneva
FONTANA, Wis. – Feb. 4, 2011 – The Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wis., announced today an exclusive partnership with Lake Geneva Cruise Line to offer a new meeting experience and venue. Now, The Abbey Resort, the only-full service resort on the shores of Lake Geneva, is offering a meeting space that's literally 5,000 acres in distance, 22 miles in circumference and seven miles long around the iconic Geneva Lake, better known as Lake Geneva.
Companies, associations and other small groups can now jump aboard one of the three vessels from the Lake Geneva Cruise Line and choose the route and location they prefer, ranging from a tour around the lake while meeting to a breath-taking view of $20 million mansions.
"The Abbey Resort and the Lake Geneva Cruise Line are teaming up for a unique meeting and group experience for organizations," said Robert Sheets, director of sales and marketing at The Abbey Resort. "From discussing confidential team strategies to strengthening team bonds, companies can provide their team with a one-of-a-kind meeting experience."
Conveniently located just outside of Chicago and Milwaukee, the "Meet on the Lake Package" is offered for midweek meetings (Monday – Friday) for eight to 50 people. The three Lake Geneva Cruise Line crafts are beautifully maintained, including the famed Walworth, also known as the U.S. Mailboat and featured on NBC's TODAY Show, the Lorelei for small groups up to 12 people, and the grand Duchess. The Duchess is a smaller version of the Lady of The Lake, Lake Geneva Cruise Lines' flagship paddle wheeler vessel.
"We're thrilled to partner with The Abbey to offer this exclusive 'Meet on the Lake Package' with The Abbey Resort," said Harold Friestad, vice president and general manager of Lake Geneva Cruise Line. "This unique offer is in addition to the tours of Lake Geneva and private cocktail charters the company is so well known for as we continually strive for innovative ways to use our fleet."
The "Meet On The Lake Package" is a 3 ½ hour package with the choice of a breakfast meeting on the boat, a morning meeting ending with lunch or an afternoon meeting beginning with lunch. All the food is catered by The Abbey Resort and serviced on the boat. The package is available throughout April and May 2011. The two larger boats are equipped to operate in all weather conditions and have heating and air conditioning.
In addition to the floating meetings, The Abbey Resort also offers 40,000-square-foot facility includes nine state-of-the-art meeting rooms and multiple outdoor venues. The resort sits on 90 acres of lusciously landscaped grounds on the glistening shores of Lake Geneva. For more information about The Abbey's group planning, please visit www.theabbeyresort.com.

More About the Lake Geneva Cruise Line
Lake Geneva Cruise Line is one of the country's most unique excursion boat businesses on an inland lake. For those looking to host more than just a meeting, their boats create memorable events that stand out from the everyday. They operate a fleet of eight vessels; several of which have been in operation over three centuries on the crystal clear waters of Lake Geneva, WI! Many companies have found how valuable it can be to differentiate their event, meeting or break out session. Creativity flows when conducting business aboard a yacht outfitted with vintage mahogany paneling and one can't help but be inspired as you cruise by historic estates built by such iconoclastic Americans as the Wrigley's, Maytag's, Borden's among others. Create memorable moments for groups from two to over two-hundred on beautiful Lake Geneva.
Lake Geneva Cruise Line (a part of Gage Marine Corporation), operating continuously since 1873, has been recognized nationally from the Wall Street Journal to the Today Show & CBS Sunday Morning just to name a few.
